Pushin’ Progress for young people

The Pushin’ Progress youth life skills development initiative has 3 parts to it: Trailblazer+, Catalyst and the Community Partners Initiative.

To acknowledge those who participated and completed Trailblazer+, a celebration was held on Friday 17 March 2023 in Jeffreys Bay.

“Our leadership and social action programme allows high school learners to develop their personal leadership and entrepreneurial skills while running a social impact project in their school. Participants are empowered to harness their potential and are challenged to inspire and empower others in their own school to do the same.” Mellissa Mashaba, Acting Programme Coordinator, Enke.

“I joined the Trailblazer+ Programme when it launched in July 2022. I had a lot of hopes about what I wanted to get out of the programme as an individual. My main goal was to learn new skills that I can use to tackle any obstacle or challenge I may encounter now or later in my life.”

“I am one of the Trailblazer+ club members and it’s been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Being able to socialize with my peers helps me think less of my daily home problems. The programme itself has taught me many lessons like communication skills, teamwork, thinking on my feet and lastly, trust.”
